WHAT IS TRAUMA

Trauma is not the event itself, but the response that becomes held in the body. Sometimes this response is interrupted or gets stuck. In our work together, we focus on reorganizing this stuck energy so the trauma response can complete, helping your physiology reorganize so you feel safer in your body.

Trauma or stress can be developmental—rooted in ongoing childhood experiences—or shock-based, arising from a specific traumatic incident. Both types can significantly limit a person’s capacity to function with resilience and ease.

Trauma may arise from a single event, repeated events, or ongoing circumstances that are physically or emotionally harmful or life-threatening. These experiences can create lasting negative effects on mental, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
